Heritage Family Cares 4 You recently awarded its $10,000 Caring 4 A Cause Grant to the Alzheimer’s Association- Vermont Chapter.
“We would like to congratulate the Alzheimer’s Association- Vermont Chapter and thank them for all they do,” said Mark Grossarth, Managing Director of HFCares4U. “The Alzheimer’s Association- Vermont Chapter provides education and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias, including those living with the disease, caregivers, health care professionals and families.”
The cause was chosen by Heritage Family Credit Union’s 2022 Employee of the Year, Matt Britt, who was tasked to pick an issue important to him for the 2023 Caring 4 A Cause grant selection process.
“I chose ‘Caring for the Elderly’ as my cause as a way to honor a number of loved ones who have passed away in the last couple of years - including my grandmother Maureen, my mother-in-law Sandy, my father-in-law Jim, and my uncle Ed. My father-in-law was affected by dementia in his last few years, and my uncle Ed passed away from Alzheimer’s Disease at age 70, so I was very pleased when the VT Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association was chosen as the recipient of this grant. I’m comforted to know that we’re playing a role in supporting treatment of those currently suffering from dementia – and hopefully finding a cure someday soon,” said Britt about his choice to pick helping the elderly as the cause.
